I could post a whole CV online, but I rather share that kind of information on personal request. What I can share with you is a list of historical and current bullets that give you a background with the author.
- Educated in Computer Science and Marketing
- Worked at the National Supercomputer Centre (SARA) in Amsterdam as a Virtual Reality Expert and Marketing Manager.
- Started the VC funded company ExVisium – visual shopping entertainment and earned a patent in virtual reality application to retail environments.
- Continued the work as Innovation Technologies, which specialised more in online, streaming and other video applications.
- Contributed video expertise to the Rotterdam Eye Hospital and in particular Dion Paridaens PhD with the production of Surgical Video’s for lectures, publications, conferences and DVD productions. More information to be found at HD-Surgery.com
- I have the privilege to work for the Rexel / Hagemeyer Organization as Manager E-Business. A very exciting and innovative company and world’s leading distributor in electrical supplies. For more information go to www.rexel.com there will not be posted any information about Rexel or Hagemeyer on my personal website. And my personal opinions are in no way related to Rexel or Hagemeyer Netherlands.
- In the little free time I have I try to write and blog about things that interest me, develop net Internet tools or gimmicks.
- In 2007 this weblog was nominated for a Dutch Bloggie Award in the category Best Video Weblog. This was mainly because of my development of a direct to web videologging application from mobile phone.
- In october 2003 this weblog attracted a lot of traffic because of my links to the Makro brochure online. Metro Makro MCC demanded my links to be removed. The result was contrary, suddenly all popular dutch weblogs and internet news related media picked up the crazy demand and e-mails from Makro. Which in return resulted in a explosion of links to the Makro Brochure. Makro never continued their legal plans to get the links removed and this weblog was suddenly one of the best read weblogs in the Netherlands.
- Pioneered in Podcasting technology while it was in the beginning. And created Cardesign.tv together with Cor Steenstra
- In 1999 I organized the Amsterdam Car show Future Pavillion for the 100th anniversary of car show. The pavillion included several 3d Visualisation environments where people could experience the year 2020.
- In 2000 I had the privilege to work on a architecural project with Rem Koolhaas, it was very exciting to create a research project get the funding and proceed with project I called ALIVE (Architecural Linked Virtual Environment) This project enabled the staff of OMA and Rem Koolhaas to present their work for the IIT campus center in Chicago from the CAVE virtual environment through a linked virtual environment CAVE in Amsterdam. The work was done in cooperation with EVL
- At IEEE Internet 2000 in Yokohama Japan, I was asked to present this work and research for project ALIVE. We then linked a CAVE in Yokohama to a CAVE in Amsterdam, Singapore and Chicago. This was done through the Startap network.
- In 2006 it was a pleasure to work for Pinky Lai, chief designer at Porsche Design. It was a very special experience to be able to visualise designs for Porsche and be involved in the process of designing sports cars.
- My current weblog is not as active as before anymore, expresses less personal opinion. This has moved over to Twitter, you can follow me as @edwardbreedveld at twitter. I do tend to follow and lead in Internet Innovation and share this with you
- My other current projects involve Twiyeur.com a service that shows you all pictures as posted on Twitter by users around the world. My other big project is Storpe.com a feed aggregator site which shows topic related pages for new and weblog stories.
