There’s already a lot written about Steve Jobs. There have been many links to video’s. The Stanford speech is now know by everybody.
What is there to add? Not much. Everything that can be said about Steve Jobs is by this time said. Did Steve Jobs inspire me as a person? Yes. Did I idolize him? No.
But he did change me from contra-apple (I used to call the Apple machines always “Mac-In-Trash” and though it was a dying breed. When I was in SF in 2000 in the middle of the “Internet Bubble” it was clear also Apple did change. The colorful machines changed the impression, and the OS was just impressive.
Everybody hopped on the Internet Express… Apple was getting ready for a ride no-one could have predicted. I could also no predict I took this picture taken one block from Moscone Center in San Francisco I would be so close to the conference center where all the Apple products would be presented the coming years.
It’s been a nice ride on that Apple Express the past years and I hope that the route will stay as interesting in the future without Steve Jobs at the wheel.
In Honor of Steve Jobs.
