Microsoft Mediaplayer 9 Available

Microsoft Mediaplayer 9 Available

Microsoft introduced the new MediaPlayer, available for 98/ME/2000 and XP. It offers a nice interface, crossfading mp3 player some more visualisations. The most interesting thing though is the new compression capabilities, Microsoft doesn’t follow the standards again and goes further than mpeg4. This raises compatibility problems but in the end it’s the picture quality that will make the difference.

One more interesting feature is the subscription options for music services like PressPlay, and in the future even video subscription services. We’ll see what happens there.
